County Council members Bob Walker, Justin Bradley, and David Britt along with other elected officials from six municipalities and Spartanburg County government have agreed to walk with residents in their communities in Greer, Inman, Landrum, Woodruff, Pacolet and the city of Spartanburg.
The walks are modeled after those held last year with Pacolet Mayor Michael Meissner that encouraged physical activity and community engagement with elected officials.
“Walk with Your Elected Official” is also part of Spartanburg County’s HealthyCommunity50 challenge. In late 2016, the county was selected as one of 50 communities to participate in the Healthiest Cities & Counties Challenge: HealthyCommunity50.
The challenge for residents is to become more physically active over the next two years. Throughout the year, there will be additional walks and opportunities for residents to get involved with the health challenge.
